I heard you were trying to persuade
your fiancée to leave the planet.
I would like to know why.
And what if I refuse to answer? Don't you
understand what's going on here? They'd kill
me in an instant if I should breathe a word!
The fear eating at your soul will bring
about your death much faster, Andrei.
As far as I know you were born on the
same colony and there, things like "duty"
and "honour" are not just mere words.
Very well . . . I hope you know what you're doing.
Everything started about an year ago. The first cases
of the disease were nothing serious. But even then I
knew that danger threatened the colonists. The Drakh
Conglomerate couldn't wait to get take over, so they
asked me to make a full listing of all the precious
metals and minerals. They even brought equipment.
I see. . . The conglomerate needs to get
rid of the colonists so that the Colonial
Service would proclaim the planet
uninhabitable. Even those corporate
officials need to keep some semblance
of lawfulness in their machinations.
I'm not sure it's the conglomerate's
officials who are responsible for the
spread of the disease, but I'm sure
they are planning something . . .
