Are these illustrations spoilers? Should I not be doing this?

Reblogging for anyone who missed this! Also legit wondering if I’m writing too fast… I should probably give people time to catch up??

While I’m fine with whatever, If nothing else, limiting it to “X per week/month/ect” can help *you* in the long run :)

I once knew a webcomic that was really fast at churning out panels.  Instead of posting them the INSTANT that they finished with them, they actually had a queue set up to post them once a week.   It really benefited them because it meant if they ever had a point where they couldn’t draw that week’s comic, they already had it covered.

For example: let’s say you’re full of ideas and energy and end up writing 5 chapters in one sitting.  If you post, say (just as an example) one a week?  That means you’ve got 5 weeks without HAVING to sit down and write more.  You can use that time to work on art, write more chapters (if you want), or even do something completely unrelated to Karasu.   Just whatever you want to do :)

The point of that is, let’s say you’re fine with doing XX chapters every XX days (readership pacing aside).   And you’ve gotten in the habit of doing that, but then something happens iRL that makes you not want to write for a bit.  Maybe you get sick, depressed, go on vacation, or just find yourself down-right exhausted from work.   If you don’t post stuff the moment you actually write it, you’ll then have a backlog of stuff you can put up :)

Letting yourself have a backlog can help pace your readers a bit AND help you have some material if you end up reaching a point where you happen to be too tired to write anything, but feel like you have to post something.   If that makes sense xD

Personally I’m fine with whatever pace occurs.  I read it when I can.  If I don’t have the time but see it’s posted, I reblog it as a reminder to myself to go back and read it when I have a moment :3  (I’ll confess, I read all the previous chapters, but haven’t touched this one yet - I’ll probably get to it sometime this weekend when my brain is less distracted enough to let me sit down and read without interruption).   That’s why you’ll often see a noticeable delay between the time I reblog something and the time I comment on it ;^^   After about 20 chapters, I have yet to have a situation occur where I reblogged and liked it, only to read it and go “NO!  THIS SUCKS!  I HATE THIS!”, so I figure it’s a pretty safe assumption that I’m going to like it, even if I’m weeping like a baby at the end of it ;^^

Thanks for the advice! I never really considered making a backlog since there has never been an update schedule and I didn’t honestly think anyone would notice if I didn’t post a chapter for a month or so. I still feel really lucky that anyone reads it at all… but that’s definitely something I’ll consider (especially if it would make it easier on you guys).
