Esta mítica pregunta me llevó todo un año responderla en mi trabajo de fin de carrera en bellas artes. Era un trabajo que duraba todo el año y con el que me jugaba un 15% de la nota total del curso, con lo que entenderéis que me la tomara un poco en serio.

En los diferentes países que han desarrollado una importante cultura de cómic se han designado un nombre, en sus idiomas autóctonos, para referirse a este.

Por error general, la mayoría de la gente suele referirse a cada uno de estos nombres como si cada uno determinara un "estilo gráfico" y "narrativa particular" de cada país donde se acuña el término (GRAN ERROR). Por ejemplo, es común escuchar gente decir que prefieren el manga (cómic en Japón) al cómic (refiriéndose a este como si fuera un estilo exclusivamente estadounidense).
