Originalmente iba a ser un remake de Godzilla VS King Kong, pero lo cambiaron, copyright y tal.
De todas formas, esta película sigue siendo de las mejores de la franquicia.
Presenta muchos grandes elementos de Ciencia-Ficción, vuelve a explicar el origen de Godzilla y de King Ghidorah, y también nos trae a muchos grandes personajes humanos.
Unos alienígenas van al pasado y destruyen a Godzilla cuando no es un monstruo, sino una rara especie de dinosaurio, y ponen a tres pequeñas criaturas que más tarde por mutación, se vuelven King Ghidorah, y un nuevo Godzilla nace para derrotarlo. Luego nos presenta una versión mecanizada de Ghidorah, que también es derrotado por Godzilla.
