In addition to 'Lost Coffee 2', Nao Yazawa also sent me one of her sketches as a bonus.

This beautifully penciled scene was a concept for an intended scene in her manga 'Shinku Chitai /The Isolated Zone'. If you are at all interested, the book can be found here:

It is an incredible treat to have an original piece of work made by a famous manga artist, especially such a well drawn one. It will be framed and out on the wall :D

My copy of 'In Search of Lost Coffee 2' finally arrived from Japan today, via the very excellent Nao Yazawa!

Last year, I took part in the Internaltional Coffee-Party Group, to add guest art to the original 'In Search of Lost Coffee'. This year I hope to do that same!

In the meantime, I'm going to video review this book and post it up when I'm done. So far I am enjoying this book, but that's no surprise from the work of Saeko Doyle and Nao! :D

For comparison with the image I posted earlier, here's today's Bata Neart tone page with the tone work completed. The lighting effects are achieved by deleting portions of the base tone, leaving white patches behind. If done in the right places, this can create the illusion of lighting and depth.
