-126X Bellerophon, king and hero of Corinth, displays hubris by attempting to climb Mount Olympus. He and his city are punished by Zeus.
-1255 Birth of Alcides, son of Zeus and Queen Alcmene of Thebes.
-1246 Aegeus, son of Pandion and grandson of Cecrops, seizes the city in the name of Athena. The city reverts to its original name, Athens. Birth of Theseus.
-1245-1246 War between Knossos and Athens; the small city is no match for the Minoan forces. Minos's son, Androgeus, is wounded. Minos asks Hades to save his son and renounces his worship of Poseidon. Androgeus, now named Asterius, commits a massacre in the city and the palace. Minos orders the engineer Muven Daedalus to create a labyrinth in which he imprisons his son.
