The doorbell rang, and I surged down the stairs to answer it. It was my brother, standing there with his bags and a silly grin on his face. He pulled me into a tight bear hug. “Miss me?”

I laughed in glee. “Of course I did, you fucker.” He’d just gotten back from two consecutive tours in Afghanistan.

“Mom and Dad home?” he asked, releasing me from his vice grip. I shook my head. “Perfect,” he growled, then mashed his lips against mine, slipping his tongue into my mouth. “God, I missed you.”

I grabbed a handful of his shirt and pulled him into the house so we wouldn’t be seen. “I’ve been practicing,” I bragged, leading him to the living room.

“Can’t wait to find out. Ready to give me your welcome home present, baby brother?”

“I’ve been ready since the moment you left.” I tore his pants down and dropped to my knees.
